Four times a year Tampa citizens get the chance to express their gripes, suggestions, and concerns to Mayor Iorio at Town meetings held throughout the city. A full team of City department head are present with notepads in hand, ready to respond to residents comments. While news headlines revolve around museums, riverwalk, Republican conventions and more; these meetings are where the real people in the neighborhoods talk about their issues. At the recent West Tampa meeting, not one word was said about those headline issues. Topics included the removal of attractive and historically valued road bricks, being consistent with neighborhood designs, traffic problems after Buccaneer games, and other rather mundane issues.
TAMPAGOLD.COM believes in citizen involvement - even if on issues we do not agree. We have provided to you an almost complete audio/video coverage of the August 15th, 2006 Town Meeting. Before you listen, ask yourself this question : What issues do you feel are most important in the City of Tampa and in your neighborhood ?
Listen to see if your issue was brought up for discussion.
If not, maybe, just maybe, you really should take the time and attend the next one.
The meeting lasted just over one hour and we have attempted to provide as much of that meeting for you.
