One of the reasons we started our original SOHOTAMPA.COM website was to be sure SOHO residents didn't miss some of the Great businesses right in their backyard. If you have never been to SKIPPERS SMOKEHOUSE, you have missed one of Tampa's best treasures. First, lets talk about the food: the best oysters in the Tampa area, crawfish, Fried Fish, Smoked Fish, Gator Tail, and always fresh and always reasonably priced. The menu is impressive ! The chicken wings are very good too.BUT it is the music that packs the most into this unique establishment. Yes, they have beer and a full liquor bar, but National and International Musical talent is the main draw.

Named the best Blues club in the US by several national groups including the BLUES FOUNDATION, owners Tom and Vince have created an institution of mammoth proportions. Almost any and every blues talent of stature has played at Skippers. The outdoor atmosphere in a beautifully tree wrapped setting is not fancy, but is sure down right comfortable. Popularly called the "Skipperdome" the sound is always of the quality you expect. Listing all of the talent that has visited them would be impossible.
