For six years, Jeanne Lavettre, owner of Serendipty Accents and Gifts has organized Davis Islands Sleigh Ride. Santa and various elves have circled Davis Islands while area residents reach out to meet Santa and provide toys and gifts for others in need. The sleigh was pretty full when we joined the parade and it kept getting more presents and gifts added with each stop. The kids were excited to have Santa arrive at their front door. Each year the Davis Islands neighborhood has responded with generous support and gifts and this year seemed like more than ever. Special thanks must be given to all who organized the event, to the contributors, and to Santa for taking time from his busy schedule to visit Davis Islands.
