Curtis Hixon Park attracted a crowd of around 1,000 for a free concert presented by the Florida Orchestra. With a backdrop of the Hillsborough River and the University of Tampa, the near perfect evening served as a gathering place for all backgrounds and ages of residents. The popular outdoor concerts have become a great way to focus attention on the orchestra. Currently the members are still in negotiation on a new contract that could provide higher wages, but additional appearances as well. The first rate group never disappoints attendees and provides a welcome break from the weeks stresses and strains.
