On Saturday night MKM Knockout Promotions took a huge step towards establishing Muay Thai in North America. MKM held Shin Do Kumate X - "Redemption" - on the biggest stage in Tampa Bay, the St. Pete Times Forum.

The event combined amazing bouts between fearless competitors, musicians and a local martial arts group to entertain the crowd. Experiencing Shin Do Kumate up in person you can see how devastating these battles are. When you hear the echo of the blows being delivered by the fighters you understand more about how much courage it takes to step into the ring. Each fight was intense and the crowd was immersed in all the action. The fights featured prominent professional fighters such as Gary Turner, Rick "The Jet" Roufus, Raul Llopis, Kate Meehan, Chico Mendez and many more. Emily Bearden fought her way to a victory in an impressive professional debut. Many of the combatants that fought that night as well as others who have performed at previous Shin Do Kumate events are better known by inner fight circles and overseas aficionados. While Muay Thai events are bigger in Europe and the Far East these fighters are more famous to foreign fans than people in their own country of America. However through the efforts of Master Mehrdad and MKM this is quickly changing through such successful events as Shin Do Kumate X. MKM is bringing Muay Thai to a level never reached before here in North America.
