Site Editor to Participate in 500 Mile Bike Ride
Alright, call me crazy. For the third time, I am
going to participate in the 7 day, 500 mile Great
Bicycle
Ride Across Iowa in late July.
This event attracts thousands of riders from across
the world on a one side of Iowa to the other fun bike
riding event.
With stops in small farm communities, this
economically powerful ride will be celebrating their
34th year. We plan to provide as close to day by
day coverage as possible from Iowa to give you a
real feel of rural live.
I Need to give special thanks to Editor/writer Milo
Geylin (formerly with the St. Pete
Times and the Wall Street Journal) who first turned
me on
to this ride. Anyone know where he is today ?
What a Great Time !
Still time to come along, Get more info about RAGBRAI here.

Dear WILLIAM,
In case you missed it, Governor Bush vetoed
millions
of dollars in state funding
for the
Riverwalk project and the Tampa
History Center.
The Tampa Tribune questioned the
Governor's intent
and indicated his veto was to "sink" the
Riverwalk.
While the money will be missed, the projects will be
continuing on. Mayor Iorio dismissed the
lost $5.5
million vetoed amount with a clear acknowledgement
that Riverwalk IS going to happen. While
$5.5 million is a lot of money, in comparison
to an
overall
cost of over $40 million for Riverwalk, that is not
such a large piece of the anticipated cost.
Congratulations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society
for raising some serious funds for research,
treatment, and counseling. See the details below.
More jobs and fame coming to Tampa. Looks like
Mark III Customs in Ocala will be locating
part of their automotive manufacturing efforts in
Tampa. And going the otherway, rumor has
LazyDays RV's expanding Westward with the
soon to be announced purchase of Beaudry RV with
locations in California and Arizona.
See you on the street, Mr. Bill
