The multi-day event held by Bern's every year is always a spectacular display of food, wines, spirits and more, but the 2007 event provided even more. While the overall expansion plans were known, the specifics were relased at a special event on Sunday morning of the WineFest. President David Laxer and Executive Chef Jeannie Pierola were excited as they revealed the look of a 75 unit hotel that will be immediately west of Bern's SteakHouse and south of the new parking garage that is under construction. The hotel will be a condo hotel that will be available for reservation sales in May of 2007 with completion scheduled for just over a year away - prior to the Superbowl returning to Tampa in 2009. The sales will be conducted by Smith and Associates with prices starting in the mid $200's range. The new facility will include a new restaurant that will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Executive Chef Pierola spoke of a special wine and culinary facility that will allow for tastings and lectures. Additonal plans call for a roof top pool and bar area. The current Wine and Spirits package store will be relocated as well providing for additional space at SideBern's. These are big changes to Bern's and to the SOHO area of Tampa. How do you serve over 1,000 people and have everything look perfect ? The answer is an easy answer from Bern's - quality trained and experiences staff. Most Bern's employees have been at this internationally acclaimed facility for many years. TampaGold.com was proud to be one of only two presenting media for the multi-day event. (The other was Tampa Bay Metro Magazine -

Bern's Steakhouse is a real Tampa Treasure and the plans they have revealed for the future will make them more valuable than ever. The WineFest is a treat to all of your senses and we spoke with many attendees about it. If you missed this one, mark your calendar for next year as this is clearly an event not to miss.
